Amoy adds an Eastern touch to pub menus
Aiming to help pubs take advantage of the popularity of Oriental dishes, Heinz has launched a new range of Amoy sauces.
The most popular Chinese dishes are established favourites for customers eating. They include sweet and sour chicken, chicken chow mein, sweet and sour pork, chicken with cashews and crispy peking duck.
Heinz believes the combination of the new sauces and recipe support will enable pubs to overcome the trepidation some cooks and consumers have about seeing Oriental dishes on menus outside specialist Chinese restaurants.
Emily Frank, brand manager for Heinz Foodservice, said: "It's easier than ever to recreate these dishes, try sweet and sour chicken or pork, accompanied by a bowl of rice and prawn crackers, or chicken chow mein with a vegetable stir-fry and noodles."
Amoy's new sauce range in 2.25kg bottles includes:
- Black Bean
- Yellow Bean
- Yellow Pepper
- Sweet and Sour
- Mushroom and Oyster
- Hoi Sin and Plum
- Szechuan Kung Po
- Asian BBQ
The complementary straight to wok noodle range, in bulk cases of 60 individua 150g portions, includes:
- Rice noodle
- Thread noodles
- Medium noodles
- Udon noodles
Emily added: "There is particular potential for outlets that do not typically serve Chinese food because Amoy's extensive foodservice range lends itself well to a wide range of dishes. We're not all experts in Chinese cooking - but you can create authentic, tasty dishes."
