Lancashire brewer Moorhourse's has announced the launch of a new TV advertising campaign.

The advert, which will be shown in the Granada and Yorkshire TV regions from December 10 has been laucnched in conjuction with a corporate DVD as it sees to captitalise on recent sales success.

Moorhouse's produces the well-known 'witch' beers Black Cat, Pendle Witches Brew and Blond Witch along with the international championship winning Pride of Pendle and Premier Bitter and has enjoyed some 130 per cent sales growth in recent years, contrary to the overall ale market decline.

Plans are in place for a £2m investment next year to double capacity to more than 700 barrels a week and provide a state-of-the-art training academy and visitor centre.

Managing director David Grant said: "The brewery is in great shape. However we can and must do better. We have taken the plunge into TV advertising to prepare for the next stage in our ambitious plans; both the commercial and corporate DVD will be at the heart of this.

"Already it has paid dividends by attracting huge interest in Moorhouse's across the Atlantic. Cask ale is showing a positive revival and we are flying the flag for it. What other small independent brewer is going on TV? When the commercial runs in December we expect our beers will enjoy another major sales boost."
