Gunners set sights on Anfield
The post Rugby World Cup hangover may be lingering, but there's some consolation to be found in the feast of top football action to select from this week, with Liverpool v Arsenal the top choice on Sunday.
Arsenal are currently sitting in the Premier League top slot, but fourth place Liverpool will be looking to inflict maximum damage on the Gunners in front of a home crowd at Anfield.
And this match will present a fine opportunity for Gerrard to make amends for missing an open goal during England's disappointing defeat to Russia in Moscow last week (SS1, 3.30pm).
Two Uefa matches on Thursday ought to pull in the punters this week, with Greek side Larissa taking on Everton at Goodison Park and Spanish side Getafe going head-to-head against Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane.
Still smarting from their
2-1 defeat to Liverpool, the Toffees will doubtless feel they have something to
prove, though Larissa do
have a reputation for being unpredictably dangerous opponents.
They will be looking for another victory against Premier League opposition after defeating an unfocused Blackburn Rovers 2-0 back in September (five, 7.30pm).
Relative unknowns outside Spain, Madrid-based Getafe are known as one of the most formidable teams in La Liga but have been suffering a relatively uneven run of late, while Tottenham have frustratingly drawn more matches than they've won recently (ITV4, 7.30pm).
Amid the football, there is some rugby league action of note, as Great Britain meet New Zealand at Galpharm Stadium on Saturday.
The Lions will have to work hard to overcome the psychological upper hand the All Golds have following their 25-18 victory over the Northern Union last Saturday (SS2, 5.30pm).
