The daughter of a licensee couple has made it to the finals of ITV's X Factor.

Peter and Angie Southwick, of the Fox Inn, Dosthill, Tamworth, Staffordshire, will watch their daughter Kimberley compete when the hit show airs this Saturday.

Kimberley, who is 19 years old, has worked her way down from 200,000 contestants and is now among the final 12. She wooed the judges with performances of One Moment in Time by Whitney Houston and I'll Stand By You by the Pretenders. Kimberley is competing to win a £1m record deal with Sony BMG.

The pub, which is a Punch Taverns leasehold, has commissioned a special brew, named Kimberley's Delight, from Dowbridge Brewery, a local microbrewery.

Peter said: "We're rooting for her, she's very confident in herself, but she knows that she's up against some stiff competition. She's got one of the best voices of the lot, we're so proud of her. Even if she doesn't win I'm sure some other opportunities will open up for her within show business. She's very committed."
