Win a poker cruise in the caribbean
A poker cruise in the Caribbean will be the prize for the pub that puts forward the winner of a new online pub poker tournament launched in association with The Publican.
A VIP poker tournament in your pub, featuring top celebrities, is also up for grabs in the Pub Poker Championship devised by gaming giant Ladbrokes.
Getting under way on September 10, the championship will see players represent their pub in a series of online poker tournaments, earning points and prizes for themselves and their local.
Every publican recruiting a set number of players to represent their pub will get a free pub poker pack, featuring tables, chips, cards and point-of-sale kits, as well as the booklet Guide to Running Compliant Pub Poker.
Ladbrokes Poker¹s Richard Packman said: ³Pub Poker is a great opportunity for pubs to capitalise on the poker boom. We understand the complexities of the new law and want to help pubs run compliant Pub Poker nights so they can enjoy a friendly game of poker as much as we do.¹¹ The Pub Poker Championship is being launched at the same time as new legislation that is set to ramp up the presence of poker in pubs.
Since September 1 pubs have been able to host poker and other equal-chance games without a licence provided that:
- The maximum amount staked by a person on any game of chance is £5
- The maximum total staked on games of poker does not exceed £100 a day.

How it works
- Pubs to register via thepublican.com
- Free PoS kit to all pubs and full pub poker packs to licensees registering 15 customers
- Players will be invited to represent their chosen pub in a series of five online tournaments on the Ladbrokes poker website20 finalists will advance to a live grand final
- The pub with the most points at the end of the championship will win a trophy and a VIP celebrity tournament in their pub
- Licensee of the pub represented by the grand final winner to receive the poker cruise package
