I'm a Conservative at heart but after the Hug a Hoody campaign, I'm not too sure. Cameron is too wishy- washy for me, I want a strong, hardline, right-wing leader -someone to get us back to good old-fashioned values. I don't really like Gordon Brown, but if he carries on with his right-wing policies I might vote for him. I used to be a true Thatcherite - I'd never have imagined I might consider voting Labour.

Neither has overwhelmed me. I'd say that Brown is a stronger politician - he's been on the national and international stage a lot longer. Cameron seems like a nice guy, but I don't like what he's saying about society being broken or what the Tories are suggesting to try and combat binge-drinking. I tend to think of it as damage limitation rather than active support - it's a question of who will do the least harm.

I'd take David Cameron any day of the week. He's not the strongest leader the Conservatives have ever had, but he seems like an honest guy and I'm sure he'll do the job properly. I think Gordon Brown is a magician - he covers everything up. I don't like the way he's changing Blair's policies to give himself an identity. If Gordon Brown came into my pub, he'd be the first-ever customer to be banned!

I'm not really political - but from what I've seen, I'd go for Gordon Brown, who seems a straightforward kind of bloke who speaks his mind. I just hope he can sort out some of the problems in this country as a whole, as well as the problems we're facing in the trade. I'm more a Labour type of person than a Conservative. I think David Cameron looks and acts like a typical politician - so I don't trust him!
