Adams re-elected as LTC chairman
Anita Adams, chairman of the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC) board of trustees, has been re-elected at a trustee's meeting and will serve another year in the position.
Licensee of the Golden Slipper in York, Adams has supported and worked with the charity for a number of years.
The LTC has seen a rise in the number of people contacting the charity with requests for assistance.
In the first quarter of 2007, the LTC experienced a 35% increase in individual applications for support.
The two schools run by the charity, the Elvian School in Reading and the Licensed Victuallers' School in Ascot are also experiencing growth, both in terms of the numbers of pupils and overall
performance.
Chief executive of the LTC Colin Wheeler said: "The re-election of Anita is unique for the LTC.
"Never before has a chairman been re-elected - it is proof of her hard work and commitment to her role and to the LTC.
"This year, we want to encourage a wider cross section of people from the industry to become trustees to ensure that the charity is representative of the
trade that it helps."
Anita Adams said: "We have a strong organisation that is able to respond quickly and efficiently to those who call on the charity in times of need.
"I am so proud to be a part of the Licensed Trade Charity and the industry that we work in, and I hope to continue building on the great foundations that have already
been laid."
