HA! HA! calls the shots
HA! HA! Bar & Canteen is serving up a range of tennis-themed drinks as the season gets going with the Artois Championships at London's Queen's Club next month. Outlets are hoping the Wimbledon fortnight will help push up sales of six specially designed cocktails, all with sporting names.
Fifteen-Love, made with Shiraz, vodka, and elderflower topped with lemonade, will be joined by Game, Set and Match - a mix of sparkling wine and Pimm's, topped with ginger ale.
HA! HA! Bar & Canteen managing director Steve Rogers said: "We hit on these
combinations after spending considerable time and effort tasting cocktails."
Customers purchasing a Wimbledon
cocktail between 4 and 11 June will be
entered in a prize draw to win one of six Artois Championships tickets.
Healthier Walkers
Walkers Sensations and Doritos are to be cooked in sunseed oil, joining the rest of the Walkers crisps portfolio as the company continues its quest for healthier snacks.
The move means that Sensations now has 60% less saturated fat and Doritos has 75% less than a year ago. Walkers vice-president of marketing Jon Goldstone said: "The move forms part of our promise to make all our products as healthy as possible, without compromising on taste."
The company said sunseed was one of the healthiest oils available and is recognised by 42% of consumers.
Food from Britain backs wine
Food from Britain, the market development consultancy for British food and drink producers, is supporting English Wine Week for a fifth year. Organised by English Wine Producers, this year's event runs from 26 May and is said to include more links with pubs and bars. Vineyards have joined forces to offer tastings in outlets, which have been promoted using PoS.
