Celebrity pub chef Mike Robinson is to open a game and wild food cookery school.

Following the success of his pub - the Pot Kiln in Frilsham, Berkshire - Mike and his business partner Oliver Shute will open the Mike Robinson Game and Wild Food Cookery School in September. The school will be in nearby Yattendon and will feature eight work stations, space for 20 students, an entertainment and bar area as well as a refrigeration store and preparation rooms.

The one day courses will include basic and advanced training in country cooking - including skinning and butchering rabbits, preparing deer and game birds. The full venison course includes a visit to the local deer park and demonstrations of how to skin and joint a whole carcass. Other courses include smoking, curing, pickling and conserving fish, meat and vegetables as well as foraging and gathering wild mushrooms.

Prices for one day courses start at £140 per person and advanced booking essential. For more information visit www.potkiln.org or call 01635 578 609
