It's FA Cup semi-finals time
After the high drama of the Champions League, our attention returns to the domestic stage.
The top two football teams
in the country are both in
action this coming weekend,
in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
On the basis of Premiership position, you couldn't have a bigger mismatch as league leaders Manchester United take on rock-bottom side Watford in Saturday's match. With the Hertfordshire team seemingly doomed to relegation, they will surely mount a fierce challenge to the Red Devils in the cup, as they bid to take something
from the season.
Manager Aidy Boothroyd's team will go into the game with confidence. Over the Easter weekend the Hornets managed to defeat Portsmouth 4-2, the same team that defeated Man U by two goals to one over the same weekend.
There's another factor in Watford's favour. Surely Man U's efforts in Europe will have
taken their toll?
Tune in to BBC1 from 5.25pm for all the action from Villa Park. It could be closer than you think.
The other semi, between Chelsea and Blackburn Rovers, is on Sky on Sunday. The teams are a lot closer in the Premier-ship table, and the promise of
a spot in the first FA Cup final
at the new Wembley should make for one hell of a game.
Coverage on SS1 starts at 3.30pm for the 4.00pm kick-off at Old Trafford.
The Premiership title race took a fresh twist at the weekend. With just six games to go, the gap at the top between Man U and Chelsea shrank to just three points. Both sides' next league games will be televised, and they're both against relegation-threatened teams.
On Tuesday, Man U host Sheffield United. Tune into SS1 from 7.30pm for the 8.00pm kick-off.
The next day, Chelsea head to Upton Park to take on a West Ham team dead set on climbing out of the drop zone. Catch the action on SS1, from 7.30pm for an 8.00pm start.
