Magners backs London Wasps

Irish cider brand Magners has extended its sponsorship of premiership rugby union club London Wasps. The deal extends the original two-year sponsorship by a further two years until May 2009. The original deal, signed in May 2005, coincided with Magners being launched in to the London market.Magners marketing director Maurice Breen commented: "London Wasps' consistent high performance and passion are a fantastic fit with our vision to promote Magners Irish Cider as a premium product."

WKD pub-footie games

WKD is offering pub football teams the chance to win £2,000, new kit and a year's supply of its top-selling premium packaged spirit brand. The competition is based on the eccentric side of football, whether it is a team's terrible kit, an absurd goal celebration, a dodgy goalkeeper or a look-alike of a soccer superstar among the players. The competition is being run in conjunction with lad's mag Nuts. Beverage Brands marketing director Karen Salter said: "This is a great opportunity for pub teams to show their WKD side and we are encouraging licensees to enter their teams for this unique award." Electric Cabaret goes north

Following the success of the Smirnoff's Electric Cabaret campaign in England last year, Scotland is now getting the chance to see top performers and bands. Six events are planned for the £1m campaign, which starts next week in Edinburgh. Artists featured at the events include the Guillemots, Go! Team and Franz Ferdinand. Smirnoff brand manager Rob Ward said: "This large-scale Scottish-exclusive investment will continue to boost consumer affiliation with the brand, which, in turn, will support retailers to drive sales of Smirnoff in both the on and off-trade."

3663 deal with Greene King

Food service provider 3663 has won a three-year contract, worth about £50m per annum, to supply Greene King's managed and tenanted estates. 3663 will supply grocery, frozen and chilled foods to the brewer's 2,650 pubs.
