Alan Bowes declared bankrupt
Alan Bowes, the former head of collapsed pub business London & Edinburgh Swallow Group, has been declared bankrupt.
Records on the Individual Insolvency Register (IIR) show that Bowes, 50, was declared bankrupt last month at Maidstone County Court.
According to bankruptcy regulations Bowes, who is described by the IIR as "formerly an executive chairman of Millstream House", will be discharged from this ruling next February.
Bowes headed London & Edinburgh Swallow Group, which operated hundreds of pubs and hotels under a variety of financial arrangements including sale and leaseback deals.
The group collapsed last September, owing hundreds of thousands of pounds to suppliers and leaving dozens of pub managers homeless.
It is not yet confirmed whether Bowes has been barred from being a company director for the period of his bankruptcy status, although this is often the case.
Details of his bankruptcy will stay on file for a further three months after his status is automatically discharged next year.
