Cobra Beer is launching a mini-version of its award-winning King Cobra lager.

Supplied in single-serving half-bottles (375ml), the smaller pack offers a double-fermented lager in an elegant dark Champagne-style sepia bottle with cork closure, similar to that of its full-size King Cobra cousin.

King Cobra is brewed to a higher strength of 8% abv than the main Cobra beer. The stronger beer goes through a secondary fermentation at Belgium's Rodenbach Brewery, now owned by Palm Breweries.

Marketing director Simon Edwards said: "King Cobra has proved very popular with our consumers, so launching the smaller bottle is really about offering our customers a choice.

"We anticipate that these mini-bottles will have a particularly strong appeal in the

on-trade market in style bars and night clubs, for the discerning drinkers Cobra is targeting."

King Cobra was first launched in late 2005 in the original 75cl bottles, intended as a table beer for sharing and targeted at gastropubs and restaurants.

The 375ml bottle is available though Waverley TBS, Classic Drinks and Venus Cash & Carry.
