Cup fever starts feast of footy
Coming up over the next seven days, there are two major events to look forward to: round five of the FA Cup; and later, the Uefa Champions League.
All three of the all-Premier-ship FA Cup ties will be tele-
vised. BBC1 gets the coverage under way on Saturday with the match between either Arsenal or Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers. Kick-off is at 12.45pm.
Also on BBC1, at 5.15pm, Manchester United play Reading, with the league leaders facing the promoted 2005-06 Championship winners at Old Trafford.
On Sunday, BBC1 will show Preston North End versus Manchester City, which kicks off at 1.30pm. If it's a possible upset you want, this is where you should look.
Also on Sunday, Sky will show the third all-Premiership tie, the London derby between Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur. Kick-off is at 4.00pm on SS1.
While Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea all aim for a sixth-round cup spot, Liverpool could well be glad that they're already out. The first knockout stage of the Champions League is just around the corner, and the Reds' match on Wednesday looks the toughest of the lot.
Before then, on Tuesday, Lille and PSV Eindhoven host Man U and Arsenal respectively. The Red Devils will appear on ITV1, while the Gunners' game is on ITV4.
Liverpool and Chelsea both play on Wednesday. The Nou Camp is the venue for the pick of the ties as Barcelona take on Liverpool. The Reds should be able to choose from a full squad of well-rested players, having not played since 10 February, but Barça pose a big threat no matter when you play them. The match will be on SS1
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho returns to Porto, the side he managed to the Champions League title in 2004. You'll find the match on SSX.
All the Champions League matches kick off at 7.45pm.
