Greene King places IPA at the 'heart of English rugby'
Greene King IPA is launching its first advertising campaign since it became the official beer of England Rugby.
The advertising will appear in UK national newspapers throughout the RBS Six Nations Championship, taking Greene King IPA's sponsorship message to a large number of consumers across Britain.
England rugby squad members are shown in the thick of the action during international matches, but the advertisements' straplines suggest that some of them have a pint of Greene King IPA on their minds.
Greene King IPA is running a Six Nations promotion in more than 2,750 pubs. The initiative gives consumers a sporting one-in-eight chance of
winning more than 300,000 rugby-related prizes.
The innovative text-to-win campaign will attract up to 1.2m consumers and the top prize will be a VIP day at Twickenham to watch England play France on Sunday 11 March.
The day includes a post- match dinner with the players, plus an invitation to the post-match press conference and a signed match ball.
Other prizes in the promotion include tickets to see England play France and limited edition Greene King IPA Kooga rugby shirts.
Greene King Brewing Company managing director Justin Adams said: "Our Greene King IPA advertising campaign places
Greene King IPA at the heart of rugby in a humorous way, and our supporting on-trade pub
promotion will help to drive awareness of the brand and the sponsorship across Britain."
