Inbev concludes 'tough reorganisation'
InBev UK has concluded "a tough reorganisation" of its marketing department with a number of people choosing to leave.
Devin Kelly, the company's marketing director, said: "This has been a tough few weeks for everybody in the department, but I've got to say that our staff - former and current - deserve a huge amount of credit for the way they dealt with this difficult situation."
The new Marketing team at InBev UK will now consist of 46 roles - a reduction of only 3 roles from before the review.
However, the change in structure means a total of 10 people will be exiting the business while 9 individuals will be promoted.
Kelly said: "We have had an over riding principle of treating everybody with the utmost respect and understanding, and we have provided appropriate support where necessary.
"There have been previous restructures in the company which were about cutting overheads and numbers. This was not about that. This is about creating a new structure which is better able to meet the needs of our ever evolving business.
"In fact we expect to see an increase in head count in the overall InBev UK business in 2007.
"I'm really excited about 2007 and beyond because we've always had great brands and great people, but now we have a great structure in place to grow our business in a tough environment."
Speaking about the number of people choosing to leave the business Kelly said: "Businesses change, they have to. And when that happens people have a choice about whether they stay or leave.
"We respect their decision and wish them all the best for the future."
