Would you host poker at your pub if you could?
John Ullman Red Lion Coleshill Buckinghamshire
Yes we would. We are a sports pub, with darts teams, quiz teams and domino teams and obviously cards are played by the same sort of people. We also have quite a big horse-racing following so I'm quite sure that if it were legal it would be something that we would have in the pub.

No, not at all. It's not that type of pub. We are a pub for more mature people, we don't have many young people in. I think there's one or two pubs around here that are interested.
In Barnsley they are talking about having leagues but
it's not something I know too much about.

A couple of guys actually asked just a month ago if we wanted to have poker. As far as I'm concerned I'd have no objections if it brings in trade, so long as it doesn't dominate; I wouldn't like to see poker going on at 10 tables. I would have to see people's reactions first before I tried it.

I've seen two or three pubs in the area holding poker nights and they seem to be fairly successful. It's something that personally doesn't appeal in any way, shape or form. I think you'd need a certain type of venue for it. I do think you'd need a quiet area to do it - if you have an area that could be set aside for poker it could work.
