Laurel Pub Company has appointed Chris Keen as chief financial officer and Steve Rogers as managing director of Ha! Ha! Bar & Canteen.

The appointments represent a further progression of Laurel's restructuring plans to create new dedicated teams and inject new talent into the business.

Keen will take over from Steve Brown who has decided to leave the business in January 2007 for personal reasons. Keen joins Laurel from Spirit Group where he became finance director following Punch's acquisition of the managed group. His previous career includes spells at Boots and Argos.

Rogers was previously operations director of the Old Orleans restaurant chain before its sale to Regent Inns in September and was also previously operations director of Spirit's Two for One business. He has also held senior operational roles at Pizza Hut and Burger King.

"We have made good progress with the reorganisation plans for Laurel over the past few weeks and I am certain that these appointments will help our strong team to drive the next phase of growth in Laurel's expansion strategy," said Laurel chief executive Paul Symonds. "I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the board to thank Steve Brown for his considerable contribution to Laurel."
