BII runs seminars on underage sales
The BII is due to embark on a series of nationwide "No ID, NO Sale!" seminars designed to raise awareness of underage selling.
From Nov 14, BII speakers will be offering practical support and advice for anyone who serves age-restricted products. The seminars will highlight strategies for success in restricting underage access, current legislation will be explained and insights offered into the challenges faced by retailers, licensees and trading standards officers.
The latest developments in technology, proof of age, enforcement and test purchasing will be discussed and those responsible for enforcement of legislation will give their views on the way forward. Delegates will also have the chance to take the BIIAB Level 1 Award in Responsible Alcohol Retailing (ARAR) at the event they attend.
Cathie Smith, Director of BIIAB, said: "BIIAB Level 1 ARAR provides essential knowledge of the responsibilities of alcohol retailers. It enables those who complete the qualification to act within the law and to support the Designated Premises Supervisor to retail alcohol responsibly on their licensed premises.
"BII is offering a unique opportunity for delegates to obtain the handbook which supports the qualification free of charge, which they can study at their leisure, and then take the examination (again free) on the day of the event they are attending."
