Have you started preparing for Christmas yet?

Yes, we started about a month ago. The menus went out and we've already had lots of bookings. But we've got several other promotions happening at the minute including the Telegraph's wine and dine for £10 offer and also British Sausage Week. We will open on Christmas Day but only for a couple of hours and just for drinks.

No, not yet. I'm a bit behind schedule this year. My biggest task will be organising the New Year party. It's always themed and the pub is usually full to its 120 capacity. We don't do much food so there won't be a Christmas menu but we will have a Christmas ale on. Right now though, we're preparing for Hallowe'en and Bonfire Night.

Other than taking bookings, the answer is no. Christmas is hyped up far too early and we don't put our decorations up before the end of November. Having said that, I will be dressing up as Father Christmas for the local school, in mid November. We'll be open on Christmas morning for drinks only and its always a very happy, jolly occasion.

Only in that the chef has prepared the menu and we've started taking bookings. No decorations will go up before December. I don't like being too early. I know you have to be prepared, but I don't think people like to have Christmas thrust upon them too early. We will be open on Christmas Day for booked lunches and the occasional regular will pop in for a drink.
