Former Inn-Direct director is struck off
Former director of Inn-Direct Edward McGhee has been struck off as a director by the Department for Trade and Industry (DTI).
The government has accepted an undertaking that he will no longer hold any directorships or be involved in the management of any companies for 10 years.
The companies investigation branch of the DTI has confirmed that it has accepted his assurance in relation to his work at Greyfriars Taverns, Tudor Inns and Barber Lettings.
Barnsley-based Greyfriars Taverns Ltd was forced into liquidation on December 15 2004 by the DTI after taking money from potential licensees but failing to place many of them in a pub.
Greyfriars' parent company Barber Lettings was placed into administration on February 17 2005 after Customs & Excise found it had failed to register for VAT.
Mr McGhee was also a former director of Inn-Direct a Bradford-based company, which was wound up on July 26.
He was company director of four companies Webwest Ltd (trading as the Lonely Pub Company), Pubs 2B Inn, Greatsite Ltd from which he has resigned.
