The teenager who killed a South Gloucestershire licensee by running him over has been jailed for six years.

Alexander Dix, 19, from Chipperfield Drive, Kingswood, in Bristol, admitted at Bristol Crown Court the manslaughter of Bob Todd, who ran the Star Inn in Pucklechurch.

Mr Todd, who was aged 56 and a father-of- two, died outside his pub in the village of Pucklechurch, South Gloucestershire, on Saturday, August 6, 2005 having been hit by a car.

He was run down after confronting a gang of teenagers who had attacked some youngsters near his pub.

Mr Todd, who ran the Star Inn in Pucklechurch, was a keen charity fundraiser for local causes and was known as the "heart and soul" of the village.

Jeremy Musgrave, 18, from Fishponds, Bristol, Aaron Burton, 18, from Kingswood, and Jacob Renwick,18, from Kingswood were given conditional dishcharges after they admitted violent disorder.

Michael Burton,17, from Stockland Green in Birmingham, admitted violent disorder and was give a 12-month supervision order.
