Pub chefs meet for menu inspiration
The second PubChef Live event of 2006 takes place in South Devon on 3 July.
PubChef Live is designed to give pub chefs menu inspiration and business ideas as well as providing a great networking opportunity.
The event takes place at Bickley Mill in the quaint South Devonshire village of Stoneycombe, near Kingkerswell.
Regional food group Taste of the West will be there to show you how to promote regional food and drink on your menu, there will be a British cheese tasting, a butchery demonstration from the British Pig Executive focusing on getting the best out of pork for tenderness and profit and a beer with food masterclass with Food and Beer Cookbook author and regular PubChef contributor, Richard Fox.
The first recorded history of Bickely Mill dates back to 1294 when it was mentioned in Bishop Bronscombe's register. It was converted into a free house in 1971 and reopened a year ago under owners David and Trish Smith.
Head chef Bill Gott uses as much produce from the south west as possible on his menu, which he describes as English with European influences,
Tickets are priced £15, which includes a three-course lunch at Bickley Mill.
