South West leaves in style
During the last 12 years, the LTC's South West Fundraising Committee has raised the amazing total of almost £80,000 through fundraising events, helping many beneficiaries such as Lesley and Stephanie Peddle (featured above).
Sadly, the volunteers have announced that the South West Committee will soon retire. As the group's last event, a special lunch in May will celebrate and thank all those who have contributed support over the years.
The South West celebratory lunch will be held on Tuesday, 16 May at the Concorde Club, Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh, Hampshire. Tickets cost just £32.50 for a three-course meal, wine and entertainment. Lunch is due to start at midday.
Colin Wheeler, chief executive of the LTC, said: "The type of events that have been organised throughout the South West, and indeed across all our other fundraising regions, can only happen through the tremendous dedication of our volunteers and supporters.
"However, many of our supporters are retiring from the trade, while those still working are under pressure. It is very sad that the South West region is disbanding after 30 years of successful fundraising.
"I'd like to thank all those on the committee, particularly key members including Julie Carey and Maria Gentles, who have committed so much of their time, devotion and effort to raising vital funds for the LTC. We hope to gain future support to continue our charity's development."
