Continental Chef Supplies is attempting to make spillages and breakages a thing of the past with its new waiter's tray.

The Siddle safe tray has been designed to carry up to 12 long-stemmed glasses and to prevent breakages and spillages, even when carried at an angle and speed. There is also a six-glass version that is light enough to be held in one hand.

The tray's inventor, Richard Siddle, has worked in the catering industry for 20 years and says: "I always hated to see a tray of drinks go down as it upset the flow of an event. People would stop and look, and the person holding the tray would be left embarrassed.

"The tray saves broken glasses, saves lost beverage, saves staff embarrassment and saves time and money," says Richard.
