Brickmakers team build on their success
The team at the Brickmakers in Norwich is the latest to be nominated for The Publican's Proud of Your Staff initiative. Licensee Charley South has nominated her staff for the contribution they have made in resurrecting the pub's fortunes and helping it become one of Norwich's leading music venues.
Charley took over the Enterprise leasehold three years ago with her mother Pam, when the business was struggling due to its bad reputation.
Having previously played at the pub in a band, she was determined to keep it going as a place for live music.
And thanks to the help of her dedicated six-strong team, Charley has turned the business into a successful operation.
"All my staff are absolutely brilliant," she says. "Thanks to their hard work we now host music seven nights a week and have made this place the best live music venue in the area."
The team spirit at the Brickmakers has been built up by allowing the staff to be involved in some of the big decisions relating to the business, Charley adds.
"We have just decided to add another live room, so we can have two bands playing at the same time on a night, but the staff are so supportive, it made the decision easier."
