Nothing to fear from smoke ban says licensee.
A pub manager who banned smoking four weeks ago says licensees have nothing to fear from smoke free legislation.
Simon Pac-pomarnacki, manager of The Sun in Splendour, Notting Hill, west London, believes a total smoke ban is the only option for small pubs like his.
He said: "With a pub this size it has to be all or nothing. We tried to have it half and half, but it really wasn't working, you can't stop smoke from moving around, unfortunately.
"So far, the change has gone down really well with lots of positive feedback from regulars who've immediately noticed the difference. We're really making an effort with our new menu and I think the no smoking policy will help customers to enjoy their meal even more."
He added: "For anyone who wants to enjoy a cigarette we've put some excellent outside heaters in the covered garden, which is going down really well.
