Pub & Bar is place to be to learn of innovations
Two real-life working pubs will take centre stage at this year's Pub & Bar trade show, hosted by The Publican.
Visitors to the April show will be able to drop into a community pub and a gastropub at the heart of the event, each one showcasing the best design and working practice of the best pubs across the country.
Training will be a key focus of Pub & Bar 2006, which is being held at Olympia from April 11 to 13.
Features will range from the opportunity to be trained in new menu ideas, to tips on serving the perfect pint and information on the host of training opportunities now available to staff in the industry.
Now in its ninth year, Pub & Bar is the annual showcase of all that is good about the trade - and everything that is good about The Publican.
More than 200 suppliers will be on show at this year's event, with products ranging from the complete variety of alcoholic drinks and mixers through to equipment, business services and food and including big international brands as well as small, unique suppliers.
Other features of Pub and Bar 2006 will include:
- The Beer Festival: a real-life festival, complete with advice and information on how to organise one in a pub
- The 3663 Food Experience Theatre: giving licensees the chance to learn about profitable new menu ideas - and even to roll up their sleeves and join in
- The Entertainment Zone: where visitors will be able to test out products first hand - from traditional games to the latest modern technology - and discover the opportunities surrounding this year's football World Cup
- The Drinks Experience Theatre: offering tastings and training in wine, spirits and soft drinks
- The Outdoor Experience: with a smoking ban approaching fast, the show will offer a real-life example of how to make the most of a pub's outdoor areas, with everything ranging from barbecues to games.
A host of business advice will be available at the event from The Publican stand, as well as at BII Live!, an area hosted by the BII.
