Boxing legend Mike Tyson popped into a Doncaster pub last Sunday where he received a fantastic reception. Wes Fox of the White Hart in Askern played host to the star after one of his regulars, who has known Tyson for 22 years, said he would like to invite him in for a drink. Boxing fan and White Hart regular Andy Booker has followed all of Tyson's fights around the world and came to know him personally. He also co-promoted Tyson's recent Dinner Tour show at the Dome in Doncaster. Booker took Tyson to the White Hart on Sunday evening and stayed for about 45 minutes. 'We cornered off an area for him as it was so busy,' said Fox. 'He was great and signed loads of T-shirts and boxing gloves.' Tyson settled for a ginger ale rather than a pint but Fox said he was gracious and appreciative of the hospitality shown towards him. 'He told me he has not had a better reception anywhere in the country,' Fox added. He said: 'The great thing was most people in the pub were actually people who drink here. It was packed with locals.'
