In my time in the industry there has been a huge improvement in the quality of pubs in this country. Pub ownership has become a specialist skill rather than just an add-on for a business

What are the biggest challenges facing the industry over the next 30 years?
Over the past few years the industry's image has gone from the positive to the negative in the eyes of the public due in large part to the irresponsible pursuit of selling cheap alcohol. The industry needs to re-establish its reputation for responsibility. The positive image of the majority needs to be protected from the irresponsible
When did you first read a copy of The Publican?
As I was forming Enterprise Inns some 14 years ago. It played an integral part in my getting to understand the industry

You are at your best when you properly understand the issues facing the industry and in an unbiased way seek to report and assist our industry in managing the issues it faces.
