One of the biggest charity fundraising events of the year is taking place between April and September and presents a great opportunity to raise cash for the Licensed Trade Charity (LTC).

The Kellogg's Corn Flakes Great Walk 2005 features a series of sponsored walks across the UK and Ireland. And the organisers have decided that everyone taking part can donate their sponsorship to a charity of their choice.

This presents licensees with a great opportunity to enter themselves or a team of friends to get fit and raise much-needed funds for the LTC at the same time.

The Kellogg's Corn Flakes Great Walk 2005 is being held in association with ITV's Britain on the Move campaign, and TV3 and UTV in Ireland, and children and adults of all ages and abilities are invited to take part.

With the events running from John O'Groats to Land's End, it could be one of the largest relays between the two points.

Professional walker Karen Churches will walk the full distance, raising money for charities. Her route will feature a series of 10km stretches.

So, if you feel really energetic you can become part of her team that's taking part in the walk, but be quick, as there are only 10 places on each of these stretches and they are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

The LTC Fundraising team is planning to organise volunteers to walk the London Hyde Park route on 18 September as part of its national fundraising activities. If licensees would like to take part, please contact the LTC on the number below. All volunteers are welcome.

All the information can be found on www.great-walk.org, alternatively phone the number below and speak to one of LTC's dedicated fundraisers who will be more than happy to help.
