Fancy storing a Vulcan bomber in your yard for a wee while?
A landlord in Stockport has given Snifter an unusual task finding a temporary home for his ex-RAF bomber while he does battle with the Blackpool Aviation Centre over its storage.
Chris Ollerenshaw, and a syndicate of pub regulars from the Snipe in Duckenfield, bought the 42-ton V-bomber for £15,000.
The ex-Falklands aircraft, which they plan to display in the pub garden, was put on sale by the aviation centre.
However, the syndicate will not know whether they have planning permission until February and storing it at the centre may incur additional ground-rent costs.
Ollerenshaw said: "I was surprised to receive a letter from Blackpool Aviation Centre highlighting the fact they may charge rent not least since the Vulcan's been on their grounds for the last 21 years.
"I know that City Hopper Airports Limited have plans for the surrounding land, but either they need the land right now or they don't. If development of the site were imminent I would be less convinced that they were not just trying to make a fast buck.
"Considering the huge outlay we have already made and the associated dismantling, haulage, reassembly and planning costs that we'll have to pay out during the coming weeks, we had hoped they would be more helpful."
Ollerenshaw's wife and joint landlord, Bev added: "The Vulcan definitely wasn't the Christmas present I was expecting! But now I want to keep it as much as Chris and our regulars.
"It would be great if someone could help us out and give the plane a temporary home until we get ourselves sorted."

The Vulcan can be moved intact or it could be dismantled to aid storage.
