I'm a celebrity, take my pic in your pub

The Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) is urging the public to get out to pubs and hunt down celebrities in order to win its Celebrity in a Pub photographic competition.

The competition has been launched in celebration of National Pubs Week, set to run from 19 to 26 February. The idea is for members of the public to snap themselves with a celebrity in a pub and stand the chance of winning an Apple iPod Photo 40GB, worth £350.

"National Pubs Week encourages people to support an industry that is currently under threat," said Camra press and marketing manager Tony Jerome. "We thought the Celebrity in a Pub competition would be fun and encourage pub goers to visit different pubs and hopefully have their picture taken with a celebrity to win a fantastic prize.

"Nearly everybody has a famous person that pops into their local and we look forward to hearing which celebs are visiting pubs across Britain."

Jerome explained that the picture of the most famous celebrity would not necessarily win the prize. "This is a fun competition so we are looking for all types of celebrity," he said. "Some are obviously more famous than others, but I am sure a few blasts from the past that make us laugh will also score highly and stand as good a chance of winning."

Entries can be emailed to celebrity@camra.org.uk or posted to NPW Celebrity Competition, Camra, 230 Hatfield Road, St Albans, Hertfordshire, AL1 4LW.
