Womble to carry Little a long way
Intrepid licensee Tiny Little is set to swap his bar for a boat as he rows across the Atlantic.
The host is setting out on 20 January in a 24ft rowing boat called Womble on the staggering single-handed 100-day epic.
Tiny, 49, of the Alexandra Tavern in Norwich will have just a sheepskin rug to shield him as he rows from La Gomera, one of the Canary Islands, to the Caribbean island of Antigua.
Little, who keeps a rowing boat outside his pub, said: "I always thought I'd do something like this if it wasn't the Atlantic then it would have been something else big and stupid.
"I'm a fairly stubborn person and when I first told friends what I was going to do, they said well, you are stubborn enough to do something like that' and yes, there is an element of that.
"I am also approaching the age of 50 and so, there's an element of the mid-life crisis creeping in too," he admitted.
The host will be surviving on a diet of freeze-dried foods, including curry and pasta, plus the odd raspberry flapjack.
All money raised will go to the Davenport Trust, a charity that cares for people with depression.
