Ballydoyle has new owners
Halewood is adding a new Irish whiskey to its spirits portfolio. Ballydoyle is a blend of whiskey distilled and matured in oak barrels by Cooleys of Ireland with a 20% malt content. The company claims the 70cl bottle, with an RRP of £11.99, will sit behind Bushmills in the imported whiskey sector and offer good value for money. Marketing support, including trade press advertising and new point-of-sale material is planned. Halewood International marketing controller Rich-ard Clark said: "Attractive label design provides strong stand out on shelf and strong Irish associations makes this a sure-fire winner amongst lovers of everything Irish." Meanwhile, Halewood has added four new flavours to its Sidekick shot range. The limited edition flavours mince pie and ice cream, chocolate orange, strawberry tart and black forest gateaux extend the offering of Sidekick creams to eight. The dessert-themed flavours are available in mixed packs of four and eight, with an RRP of £2.49 and £4.99, respectively.
