Appointments round-up
- Adult soft drink Shloer is set for a marketing push in the on-trade after Helen Betts (pictured) joined brand owner Merrydown from Britvic.
Helen is targeting both the foodservice and on-trade sectors in her role as business development manager. She has already opened negotiations with several major pub operators and said: "I am looking forward to being part of a small team where everyone has 'hands on' contact and has responsibility for what they do."
Simon Williets has joined late-night bar operator Urbium as development director.
Simon, who formerly held acquisition roles with both Bass Leisure Retail, now Mitchells & Butlers, and Scottish & Newcastle Retail, will be responsible for Urbium's expansion plans as well as management of the existing 27-bar estate.
Urbium managing director Robert Cohen said: "Simon's acquisition experience will be of great benefit to the group as we continue our expansion programme."
In particular, he will be seeking new opportunities in provincial towns and cities for flagship brand Tiger Tiger, together with smaller non-branded sites in and around London.
Lancaster brewer Daniel Thwaites has appointed Janis Bowyer (pictured) as retail marketing executive for its new pubs division.
Janis, until recently a promotions executive for the Pub Estate Company, said: "My main brief will be to develop sales in the newly-formed Pub Division - the managed and tenanted arm of the brewery - through promotions and events.
"Working closely with all our licensees and area managers I will assist with the organisation of a range of activities designed to really drive the business forward."
