Licensees warned over couple banned from all UK pubs
Licensees are being warned not to serve a couple who have been banned from every pub in the UK.
Robert George Hughes, 37, and wife Lisa, 38, of Tylorstown, in the Rhondda, Wales, were given the indefinite ban - which covers drinking alcohol in a public place - under an Anti-Social Behaviour Order.
Police recently responded to a complaint at the couple's house and needed CS spray to deal with the situation.
Appearing at Pontypridd Magistrates Court Lisa Hughes admitted assaulting a police officer and using threatening behaviour and was placed under a nightly curfew from 8.30pm to 7.30am until September 12.
A photograph of the couple (pictured above) has not yet been issued to all licensees by the police, who have admitted they are relying on the public to enforce the ban.
Gareth John, executive officer at the Licensed Victuallers, (Wales), said: "This is the law so it's a criminal act for this couple to go into a pub. It's good for the trade that there is a clamp down on these people and we strongly support exclusion orders."
