  • London's Hammersmith fire station is to be renovated into a new bar-restaurant.

Developer Nightingale Estates is planning to extend the former appliance bay, which is approximately 6,500sq ft, into the new venue.

The Grade II listed building was recently vacated by the fire brigade, which has moved to new premises at the end of Brook Green.

Jeremy Sandle, director of Nightingale, said: "Hammersmith has nothing to compete with this opportunity. It is a magnificent building with tons of character. The huge fire bay doors will be swung open to reveal a four-metre high space, complete with white glazed bricks, like the Michelin building, and help to produce a light and airy space. Even the firemen's poles will be retained."

The oldest gay pub in Nottingham has been placed on the market for the first time in 24 years.

The Central in Huntingdon Street is a two-storey property comprising a lounge bar, disco bar, first-floor function room, a small catering kitchen and six-bedroom owner's accommodation.

It has a city centre location just half a mile from Victoria shopping centre and is on the main drinking circuit amidst other bars, clubs, pubs and restaurants. It is available for £125,000 for the leasehold interest.

Call Christie & Co on 0115 948 3100.

Below Decks bar and café is situated in Torquay's new £21m waterfront development.

It is situated on the water's edge and has an eating area with full length glazed open doors leading to a patio.

The business is operated on two separate leases from Torbay Council - one for the unit and one for the patio.

Bettesworths is handling the sale and is looking for offers in the area of £175,000 for the leasehold.

Call 01803 212021 for details.

The London Inn in Maurice Castle, on the outskirts of Plymouth, Devon, is up for sale through agent Taylor Son & Creber.

The lounge bar, which features a large collection of naval memorabilia, has recently undergone a renovation, while the traditional public bar has been extended.

The business also benefits from a recently refurbished first floor function room and bistro with up to 30 covers, which is served by a commercial kitchen. There is also a car park and barbecue area.

There is scope for new proprietors to develop the business particularly in the food trade as they will benefit from the recent investment in the lounge bar and bistro areas.

The free-of-tie lease is being offered at £99,500 at an annual rental of £21,750.

Call 01752 202035.
