Bill Sharp The Kings Arms Bankside London "I think that drinking beer is something that should be enjoyed in moderation. Ale can make an excellent partner to many types of food, and despite what many people think, has a very low fat content. The advice I would give to my customers is enjoy a drink but take it easy on the bacon sandwiches." Rob Ackerley Queen's Head Wrexham "Beer is definitely not unhealthy. We have regulars who drink three pints each evening and none of them have a belly. I think the key is to keep active. The problem is that people tend to eat takeaway food after drinking a few beers. However, as we are in a small village, there isn't the temptation of fast food after the pub." Geoff Holland Hollybush Inn Salt, Stafford "Beer has earned a bad reputation for no reason. Just because you drink a few pints it doesn't mean you will put on weight. Beer is certainly better for you than alco-pops that are very sweet andhigh in calories. I would advise drinking weak-strength cask ale, which is an all-round healthy drink.
