Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs One to Watch award open for entry

Pubs have until Sunday 29 September to put themselves forward for a chance to be on the prestigious gastropubs list.
Entrants will be required to answer a series of questions before the judging panel assess each application and shortlist six finalists.
This will be followed by an in-person site visit where judges will conduct an in-depth interview, evaluating each pub’s appeal, food and drink offering, service, ambiance, cleanliness, service and quality.
Each of the shortlisted pubs are invited to the glittering awards in January where they will find out the outcome of the esteemed award.
Unique opportunity
One to Watch offers a unique opportunity for pubs to secure a place on the gastropubs list by nominating themselves. Open to all, the award gives all a chance to earn a place among the sector’s best.
Moreover, a select panel if expert judges will also vote on awards such as Chef of the Year and Estrella Damm Sustainable Pub of the Year while the Highest New Entry on the list and Highest Climber will also be recognised at the ceremony.
On the One to Watch award, Ed Bedington, editor of The Morning Advertiser, founder of the awards and list, said: “Winning or being shortlisted as a finalist is an excellent way of getting your pub – and yourself – the recognition you deserve.
“Getting on this list is the jewel in the crown for foodie pubs across the UK. It’s the place to be seen.”
Last year’s winner was the Victoria in Oxshott, Surrey. Co-owner Simon King explained the pub had “really expanded” its exposure from taking home the award.
Prestigious competition
Furthermore, the Bull’s Head in Holymoorside, Derbyshire took the title for 2024. Chef-patron Mark Aisthorpe said: “We genuinely couldn’t believe it when we were shortlisted.
“The Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs is one of the industry’s most prestigious competitions and to win One to Watch and be on the list as well has been an amazing achievement for me and all the team. We couldn’t be prouder.”
