Mission Mars' Albert's Schloss in good growth
The company behind powerhouse party bar concept Albert’s Schloss has reported strong levels of growth across its business.

Mission Mars, which runs 32 venues across the UK, including four Albert’s Schloss alongside 26 Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana, said group revenue for the financial year of 2023 was £71.1m against £47.1 in 2022.

It said the Albert’s Schloss brand contributed £32.2m to that sum, compared with £21.6m in 2022. While on a like-for-life basis, comparing it’s Manchester, Birmingham and Liverpool sites, the brand delivered growth of 6%.

Group adjusted EBITDA (adjusted for one off site opening costs and exceptional costs) for the period was £8.7m compared with £5.2m for 2022.

Roy Ellis, chief executive said: “Whilst the sector continues to face a number of challenges, our team continued to build on previous year successes by delivering an industry leading Group Guest Experience score of 78% in FY23 and delivering further improvement to 82% in FY24 H1.

“We continue to focus on reducing colleague turnover and I am pleased to report our colleague retention rates have achieved record levels for the third successive year. Our Best Companies results remain strong with half of our venues achieving a 3* World Class rating (Best Companies). Whilst pleased with the progress, it is clear that we still have a number of opportunities to progress on our journey to become a World Class Employer.”

He added that the continued strength of trading was giving the business confidence that both the Albert’s Schloss and Rudy’s brands were well set to deliver further growth and trade successfully in other parts of the UK.

The company recently opened it’s fourth Albert sites in Soho, London, which Ellis said had made “a very encouraging start”.

“We continue to search for the best locations and currently we have 8 new Rudy’s Napoletana currently in legals and negotiating on a number of potential Albert’s Schloss locations.”

The first half of 2024 continues to remain positive, the company said with Albert’s Schloss delivering record revenue totalling £18.9m, compared with the first half of 2023 at £16.2m, and Rudy’s delivering record revenue of £19.9m compared to  £12.1m.
