Livebookings has launched a TV ad campaign to further push its consumer reservations website Bookatable.com.

The ad launched last week for a five-week run on More4 and the Good Food channel with plans for a second instalment later in the year.

It aims to educate diners on the benefits of booking meals at pubs and restaurants online by showing diners arriving at a restaurant to find there is no space for them and another character who is kept on hold while trying to book over the phone.

The main character is able to book his perfect restaurant online.

"The launch of the new ad campaign highlights our continued focus and investment into our consumer website, Bookatable.com, which delivers more than 40,000 restaurant covers every week," said Livebookings chief executive Colin Tenwick.

"The ad gives the Bookatable brand and the restaurants we work with more exposure, and by highlighting the benefits of online reservations to consumers, will hopefully drive more diners through the door and help restaurants to maximise their occupancy."

The campaign will also be supported by online and social media activity.
