For pubs looking to add a touch of class to their lunchtime offer, cash and carry group Makro has launched its own delicatessen range.

The 18-strong product range, sold under Makro's Tested By Professionals brand, has been developed using customer feedback and recommendations.

Sold in a choice of small individual portions or larger packaging for events and functions, the range includes innovative flavours and combinations such as Thai noodles, beetroot salad and tikka coleslaw.

Each item contains British vegetables and is packaged in a resealable container which can be easily stacked or stored in displays.

Kelly Hathway, own brand manager, said: "Everything from taste to packaging was assessed with the customer in mind, and then tested by key customers in the industry.

"The range is fresh, British and convenient, but sold at great prices so businesses will get a product that is high in quality and cost effective.

"We're delighted with the final products and are looking forward to expanding the range over the coming months to include dips and sandwich fillings."
