Pub sector businessman Doug Glendon has been banned from being a director for 11 years.

Glendon, who used to work for discredited pub company Provence and went on to attempt to use its sale and leaseback business model, acted as director of Inn2gether Public House Management (IPHML), between August 2004 and March 2005, while serving as an undischarged bankrupt.

The Insolvency Service said: "He failed to ensure that adequate records were maintained, preserved and/or delivered up to the liquidators in respect of IPHML's trading.

"Liquidators have been hampered undertaking the administration of the liquidation and have been unable to satisfy themselves that all of IPHML's income has been properly utilised and accounted for, in particular that five amounts totalling £204,000 transferred from IPHML's bank account between 8 November 2004 and 1 December 2004, for which no explanation has been received."

The Insolvency Service said it had been unable satisfy themselves that the deficiency of £284,279 can be explained by genuine trading losses suffered by IPHML during its six month period of trading.

Inn2together Pub Management sacked a manager in January 2005 for ordering light bulbs without consent.

John Traynor, of the Way Out Inn at Canterbury in Kent, was employed as a "service agent", managing the pub and getting paid through commission. Inn2gether claimed Traynor carried out unauthorised maintenance and committed other breaches of contract.
