Kerri-An Suffield and her partner, Brice Munday, have just taken on the George & Dragon in Gosport.

Suffield has been in the trade on and off for almost 20 years, but was most recently a student nurse, Munday has a background in the army.

"We're enjoying it, the business has really been picking up since we took it on in June. In the day it's really an old-

persons pub, but in the evenings it gets a lot more lively and we attract a younger crowd," said Suffield.

The couple have also taken on the freehold of a nearby nightclub called the Sidewinder.

They are keeping on the chef who offers a good value menu, offering staples like gammon and chips as well as less traditional dishes like curries.

"The pubs a bit run down but nothing major, just needs a lick of paint, we haven't done much yet but we don't think it will be difficult to get it up to scratch. We haven't got much else planned really, it's fine as it is. We're going to offer food a bit later in the evening and are considering bringing in real ales."

The pub is a brand new Punch Taverns lease and is tied on beers and ciders. The business was sold off an asking price of £63,000 and the annual rent is currently £59,000.
