Teign House Inn
Christow
Devon
Guy Simmonds has successfully completed the sale of the free-of-tie lease on this Dartmoor landmark freehouse on behalf of John Hulme and Una Hoyle. New owners Peter and Sue McGregor bought the leasehold off an asking price of £168,000. The highly profitable inn is set in seven acres of land by the river Teign and has its own fishing rights and caravan/camping site. The McGregors are to take advantage of planning consent for a conservatory dining area to complement the main bar, restaurant and garden trading areas.
The Barge Inn
Keadby
North Lincolnshire
The freehold on this property has recently been purchased by S&NPE, through RTA Business Consultants Limited, for an undisclosed sum. Situated on the bank of the Stainforth & Keadby canal at its junction with the river Trent, the outlet has a good local reputation for food. The pub is also well-known as a family venue, with a wide selection of beverages for all ages and preferences. RTA claims that the Barge Inn will now benefit from being acquired by a large pubco because this will ensure that the business is fully developed to reach its optimum potential. Briefly, the pub comprises a patio and lawned beer garden adjacent to the riverbank - meaning the outlet is ready for the smoking ban.
