Licensees have been encouraged to take advantage of this year's London International Wine & Spirit Fair, particularly the on-trade section.

The event, which runs from May 16 to 18 at the Excel Exhibition Centre in London, operates an exclusive, on-trade area where the tables are unmanned, allowing visitors to browse wines at their leisure.

James Murray, exhibition director (pictured), told The Publican: "For time-pressured licensees the London International Wine & Spirits Fair is, quite simply, a one-stop shop for tasting wines and spirits from around the world, all under one roof.

"The fair is a great opportunity to meet the winemakers behind the wines the licensees sell.

"It is a chance to discover new and exciting products and to get valuable business advice - including increasing profit margins."

There will be a number of on-trade focused seminars and briefings, details of which can be found opposite.

Plus, the amount of spirits producers exhibiting this year has doubled compared to 2005, with the creation of the Spirits Quarter.
