The world's largest....

1. CRÈME BRÛLÉE​ Created by the Californian Egg Commission, Chef Rick Royal and students from the Art Institute of Los-Angeles School of Culinary Arts, the brûlée had a diameter of 7m (23.25ft). The dessert consisted of 3,600 egg yolks and was completed on 3 August, 1999.

2. TOAST MOSAIC​ Yes, the artwork made from slices of bread toasted to varying shades measured 12m x 4.1m and depicted a portrait of Mark Blumsky, the former mayor of Wellington, New Zealand. It was created by Maurice Bennett.

3. PECAN PIE El​ Paso Diablos Basketball Club, Texas, USA, made a pecan pie weighing 18,863kg (41,586lb) and measuring 15.24m (50ft) in diameter at Cohen Stadium, El Paso, Texas, on 22 May 1999.

4. STIR-FRY​ This weighed 700kg (1,543lb)and was made by TV chef Nancy Lam in aid of the NCH children's charity. The spectacular dish was served up in London's Leicester Square on 23 January 2004. The ingredients included a staggering 69.5kg (153.2lb)green cabbage, 222kg (489.4lb) Chinese cabbage, 204kg (449.7lb)white cabbage, 187.5kg (413.6lb) carrots, 9.6kg (21.2lb) baby corn, 150kg(330.6lb) and 12kg (26.4lb)of pak choi.

5. ONION BHAJI​ This weighed 59.6kg (131lb) and had a diameter of 80cm (31in). It was made on 8 November 1999 by three chefs at the Veena Indian Cuisine Restaurant and Takeaway, Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire.

6. CROQUEMBOUCHE​ On 16 August 1998 at the Penang Mutiara Beach resort, Malaysia, 20 chefs constructed a croquembouche measuring 4.1m (13ft 6in) tall. Definitely one for the sweet-toothed among you.

7. BOWL OF DIP​ In celebration of collegiate football's season finale, members of Friendship Dairies Inc of New York created the world's largest bowl of dip to establish a new Guinness World Record. The salsa-flavoured treat included 2,314.6lb of sour cream, tomatoes, onions, bell pepper and jalapenos. Armchair epicureans please note, the culinary concoction equalled 32,000 servings.

8. BANANA PYRAMID​ Constructed by the Patronage of Tourism for Gran Canaria in the Plaza de Colon, Madrid, Spain, on 26 January 2000, the pyramid had a height of 9.7m (31.8ft) and base measuring 10m (32ft) per side, holding 5,700kg (12,566lb) of bananas.

9. CHOCOLATE HEART​ Online dating site Match.com unveiled a 7metric ton chocolate heart in Madrid on 13 February 2004 for Valentine's Day, breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest chocolate heart.
