Licensees have revealed their plans for this summer at their pubs to make the most of the current good weather.

The Jolly Crispin in Dudley, West Midlands doesn't have televisions so focus their attention on other aspects of the pub.

Licensee Robin Carey said: "We have got a fabulous beer garden that we have developed year on year and is awash with colour at the moment. We have added loads of planters in the car park and it is certainly working to bring people in."

Beer garden

Glen Duckett from the Eagle and Child in Ramsbottom, Lancashire said the recent good weather has helped the trade at the pub: "We have been really busy and we have a massive beer garden, where we are in the process of building an outdoor bar and barbeque to be ready for the summer holidays."

The Holly Bush in Salt, Staffordshire hosts an annual beer festival in the summer along with live music on the lawn.

Licensee Geoff Holland said: "To celebrate the fine weather when we have it, we get the outside pizza oven up and running too in our very big beer garden and outside bar."

Drinks offer

When the temperature is rising, drink offers can be a great way to entice customers in.

Gordon Reid from the Queens Arms in Corton Denham, Dorset said: "We have had special summer deals on cocktails, Pimms and we have a 1934 ice cream bike where we do cones and tubs for kids to keep them cool. There are barbeques every weekend, weather permitting, as people love a BBQ in the summer time and will queue up for them."
