Great British Pub Awards
Pub Awards: Best Inn finalist - The White Horse, Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk
Recently refurbished to make maximum use of the spectacular views across the Brancaster bay, the White Horse offers a little bit of something for all ages and types, whether you like great seafood, a fantastic setting, a pub to stop on a long walk along the coastline, or simply a pint in the front bar.
The rooms are two-fold, some set upstairs, above the pub, with a coastal and nautical theme, as well as a series of ‘pods’ adjacent to the seafront. The latter rooms, due to their location and being set-aside from the main inn, are dog-friendly and you can simply walk off the beach and into the room.
Rooms
The rooms above the pub offer a cosy and ‘at home’ feel with high-quality mattresses and additional elements of the offer, such as USB sockets and LCD televisions.
The jewel of this inn though is the dramatic restaurant area with a glass ceilinged conservatory, outside decked dining area, and a smaller side room which has also had its windows recently refurbished to allow for maximum views across the bay.
Sitting here, even on a wet and windy afternoon, the impact of the landscape creates for a superb dining experience, and that’s before you have tasted the locally sourced Oysters, white fish and, of course, a side portion of salty, buttery samphire.
